Our little black kitty, Pocca, had only made one trip previous to our 2015 trip to Albuquerque. His initial trip was when we moved from California to Idaho, and that trip was in a kitty carrier. We decided to fit him with a harness and leash and give him more freedom in our pickup. He soon discovered the best seat in our truck was on the dashboard where he had a great view out the windshield.
We are exploring the State and Federal Parks in New Mexico and want to share our experience with friends, family, and interested visitors.

Our adventure begins
Our adventure began with our trip from Idaho to Albuquerque. It was late May of 2015, and the desert flowers were in bloom. We spent the night in Moab, Utah, and then early the next morning headed south on U.S. Route 491. We cut through the mountains. Check out this photo as we headed to Monticello, Utah and Cortez, Colorado.

Welcome to our blog.
New Mexico is famous for it's balloon festival. |
We took many pictures travelling to and from New Mexico and
thought others might enjoy sharing our adventures. Our goal is to visit as many state and
federal parks and other locations as possible.
We will post some of the photos we took.
Included will be plants, animals, birds, lizards, and occasionally
insects, and we’ll include the locations where the photos were taken.
We will attempt to identify as many species as
possible. We welcome comments and help
with identification. Please keep in mind
that I am not more than an amateur photographer, and even though I have a
background in science, I do not claim to be an expert at identifying all the
flora and fauna I post.
